Position Detail
Position Purpose
In this position, the Sr Manager Finance will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction and analysis for the Sales and Margin FP&A team. The Sr Mgr Finance will play a key role in driving process improvement, financial analysis and will work closely with the FP&A Director and FP&A Vice President in order to achieve business goals and create shareholder value through the planning process. This position will be responsible for developing financial planning, forecasting and reporting efforts across the company.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Coordinates Financial Planning/Budgeting process for all Sales and Margin (including stores, subsidiary businesses, and consolidations & eliminations).
Conducts ad hoc financial analysis to support ongoing financial results in Sales and Margin. Includes variance and trend analysis on company performance as well as identifying risks/opportunities.
Leads the weekly PresidentC"BBs Call reporting and analysis generation process.
Leads and coordinates the development of Khalix software and the planning process for Sales and Margin.
Creates periodic financial forecasts. Develops and implements key financial forecasting metrics.
Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving - Works to fully understand business; identifies & implements process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives.
Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.
Oversees staff of 1 to 5 Financial Professionals.
Nature and Scope
Reports to FP&A Director and has significant interaction with FP&A Vice President, Stores Finance Senior Vice President and Merchandising Finance Senior Vice President.
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA strongly preferred.
Five years experience in Financial Planning/Forecasting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Significant knowledge and experience in Retail Finance in the areas of Sales and Gross Margin recognition.
Knowledge of Divisional and Store processes and its impact on Sales and Margin.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Thorough working knowledge and application of theories and principles of Finance and Accounting.
Expertise in business analysis and financial modeling.
Excellent analytical, organization, project management, communication and people management skills.
Team and partnering skills are essential. Ability to work collaboratively across business units' hierarchy.
Knowledge of business and management. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
Ability to develop and implement strategies that support the objectives of the company.
Critical thinking skills; using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, applying general rules to specific problems.
