Position Description Manages audit and monitoring functions for physician revenue cycle outsource operations and/or other divisions as required. Implement policies and procedures to facilitate compliance with applicable statutes, regulations and regulatory requirements. At the direction of the Compliance Officer, MTS, performs audits and/or investigations in various operations groups to ensure adherence to policies and procedures which facilitate compliance with applicable statutes, regulations and regulatory requirements. Audits and evaluates current policies, procedures, processes and documentations to assess compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. On a quarterly basis, performs quality assurance audits of team members to ensure accuracy. At the request of the Compliance Officer, prepares documentation and reports based on audit and monitoring initiatives. Prepares documentation and reports for submission to external entities (e.g., governmental regulatory agencies), as directed. Minimum Requirements At least 5 years health care auditing experience required, with at least 3 years of health care compliance experience required. Knowledge of physician revenue cycle outsource operations, applicable laws, statutes and other regulatory requirements required. The candidate must have strong familiarity with medical terminology and patient records and coding regulations. At least 3 years of supervisory experience is required. At least five years of in depth knowledge of coding for physician services, academic or multi-specialty experience is preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as diagnosis and procedural coding. Candidate must be well organized, and have excellent written and oral communications skills. Education Bachelor's degree in related field required. Degree requirement may be waived based upon demonstrated knowledge and experience. Certification: Certification as a professional coder (CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC- H) is required. Certification in Health Care Compliance preferred.
