Job Summary
Supports the Commercial Division's global sales force by providing financial, pricing and modeling assistance throughout the sales negotiation process.
Coordinates and compiles financial and statistical data as necessary to support the sales negotiation process.
Provides guidance on sales strategies, pricing policies, performs ROI sensitivities and provides recommendations regarding alternative pricing/deal structures to maximize profitability of customer proposals.
Assists the sales team to minimize costs associated with retaining or securing customer accounts and/or market segments.
Reviews and provides finance control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance on pricing models, worksheets and contract terms, prior to approval and subsequent signature.
Responsible for coordinating with Internal Systems, the ongoing maintenance and further development of the MERLIN pricing model and the automated approval process of models.
Provides ongoing training to existing and/or new sales personnel and ensures training manuals and internal website are updated regularly.
Supports the Lead Financial Analysts to identify and satisfy the customer informational needs of the various areas of the Commercial Division. Designs and produces statistical reports, trend analyses and projections using data captured in the MERLIN database and/or the data warehouse, as requested. Ensures the timely and efficient delivery of such information, by understanding and maximizing the full capabilities of the various financial applications.
In conjunction with other areas of the Commercial Division, provides input and assistance in the development of incentive programs that motivate sales personnel and ensures maximized segment production.
Continually assesses the workflows around the customer proposal process and strives to identify the opportunity for automation, where possible.
As and when capacity allows, assists in other non pricing-related FP&A projects.
Qualifications
A level of knowledge acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
One to three years of related experience, preferably in financial planning and analysis and/or pricing.
Knowledge of financial measurements and metrics (ROI, IRR, NPV CAGR and EBITDA)
Prior sales and/or customer negotiation experience and travel distribution industry knowledge would be advantageous.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are needed.
Ability to work with all levels of Worldspan employees is essential. This position has high visibility and the individual will interact with senior management on a regular basis.
Strong analytical and math/finance skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a deadline orientated environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to work independently
with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of Excel is necessary.
Ability to travel by air and/or car up to 10% of the time.
Business Objects knowledge would be a plus.
