Our valued north metro Atlanta Fortune 500 client has engaged us to find for them the best Director, Global Tax Counsel & Planning.
This position reports to the VP, Tax.

Will be the leader of a group of attorneys and accountants responsible for the application of complex U.S. federal and state and international income tax laws to our client's global business.
The overall objective of the position is to develop and implement tax-aligned business planning strategies for the company consistent with provisions of tax laws, high ethical standards, and operating objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Develop and implement global tax planning strategies and cash repatriation strategies
Perform tax analysis, research, and documentation of tax positions
Represent company in tax audits and/or controversies
Coordinate and review documentation of reasonableness of tax return positions
Determine the most tax efficient structures of mergers or acquisitions, as well as be responsible for any internal restructurings of the company's legal entity group that will allow the company to efficiently utilize all tax attributes
Work directly with other company leaders to solve business issues
Manage and lead other team members in periodic responsibilities and contribute to personnel matters such as recruiting, defining objectives and performance appraisals
Work directly with CFO Leadership Council members on various process planning/analysis initiatives

Job Requirements:
Strong analytic and technical federal, state and local and international tax skills
International tax planning expertise
10+ years of corporate tax, law firm or public accounting experience
JD required
Strong goal orientation, sense of urgency and attention to detail
Managerial and leadership experience (Directly supervises 3)
Ability to establish priorities and to establish and meet deadlines
Strong ability to execute and to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Must be able to adjust and work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
Preferred Requirements
CPA or LL.M.
