SENIOR MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF TAX

Job Description:
The Director of tax will manage and maintain the Company’s global tax accounting, tax compliance and tax operations function and will implement a global tax planning strategy.
The primary responsibilities include the identification and analysis of various tax strategies and incentives; and, analysis of pending, proposed, and recently-enacted tax laws and regulation changes, the development and review of the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision for all legal entities, annual review of federal and state income tax returns; ensuring the effective operation of the internal control environment to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements; IRS audit support; the proper application of FAS 109 principles; and Federal and state income tax research.
* Perform tax compliance function as it relates to tax filing and reporting, including income, franchise, sales, property, excise, license taxes, etc.
* Review federal, state and local tax returns and extension requests and estimated payments of the Company, including income and franchise tax returns
* Prepare and review corporate tax provision analysis and footnote disclosures
* Calculate and review estimated overall tax rate for budget and re-forecasts
* Review of the Company’s sales and use, excise and property tax returns
* Manage relationship between the Company and external tax advisors and accountants
* Act as a liaison between business, legal and other departments on tax matters
Requirements
Qualifications:
* CPA is a plus along with some combination of post graduate work such as law, accounting or tax;
* 10-15 years of Federal and state income tax accounting, compliance, and research experience;
* Prior experience in Accounting for Income Taxes, including SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance;
* This position requires a demonstrated leadership presence/visibility and management experience, including direct supervision and managing outside consultants;
* This position also requires tax issue assertiveness, negotiation skills, conflict management skills, systems thinking, and managerial decision making and problem solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Must drive business results, exhibit business acumen and manage corporate values and goals;
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
* Masters of Tax or MBA preferred;
