Job Description:
Tax Manager

Established and growing midsize company is seeking an experienced tax professional who will work on various aspects of the tax compliance function, including federal, state and local tax return preparation and tax research. The candidate will ultimately handle the consolidation of the U.S. tax return. This position will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller / Director of Tax

Responsibilities:

-Prepare federal and separate company state tax returns and workpapers.
-Prepare federal and separate company state tax returns and workpapers for various entities.
-Prepare separate company local tax returns and workpapers for various entities.
-Prepare the consolidation of the federal 1120, including required workpapers and support for all aspects of the consolidation.
-Prepare and file all extensions for federal, state and local income tax returns.
-Prepare quarterly estimated payment calculations.
-Assist in the tax return information gathering process
-Assist with the preparation and filing of the quarterly unemployment tax returns.
-Identify and analyze tax law changes for effect on corporate tax entity.
-Miscellaneous tax research projects, as necessary.
-Respond to various federal, state and local audit notices and other correspondence.
-Assist in other projects and issues as needed.

Requirements:

-3 years experience in private industry or public accounting (corporate tax experience preferred)
-Good general federal, state and local tax knowledge and experience
-Extensive experience with a tax compliance software system including the consolidation process
-Experience with Excel, Word, etc.
-Ability to research tax issues
-Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical tax issues with non-tax personnel.
-Excellent organization skills
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
-Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
-Ability to work on multiple projects
-Must possess a “Whatever it takes” attitude to get the job done.
