Investment analyst position purchasing public bonds and sourcing private placements for the Bond and Corporate Finance Group's Food and Commodities team.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the field office's direct origination of food and commodity related investments.
- Participate and actively assist in all steps of the investment process including initial marketing, credit analysis, due diligence, credit approval, documentation and deal closing.
- Assist in managing the investment portfolio including:
Monitoring financial performance and covenant compliance
Analyze and process amendments, waivers and other legal document modifications
Analyzing requests for additional capital, and
Managing for improvement of under-performing investments
- Prepare annual reviews on all investments in the region that highlights credit performance and notes areas of risk and change.
- Create and maintain various financial models to support investment decisions and portfolio maintenance.
- Participate in the drafting of internal credit approval memos, investor, and rating agency presentations and offering memorandums for high yield and syndicated loan offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with major in business, finance or accounting, with a CPA, CFA or MBA preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant financial, credit and accounting analysis experience preferred, preferably gained in the financial services sector.
- Excellent working knowledge and practical application of financial principles, policies, procedures and accounting.
- Proficient in Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communications and presentation skills, with close attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, team player, and problem solver.
- Some travel required
