Duties and Qualifications
SunTrust Mortgage has developed aggressive goals to increase its mortgage loan portfolio, and to meet our objective, we are seeking seasoned mortgage loan originators throughout the Columbus/Newnan/Phenix City area. This is a great opportunity to join a leader in the mortgage industry and ranked #1 by JD Power & Associates in a recent Customer Satisfaction survey.

Minimum: qualifications:  2 years as a Retail loan originator, with a proven sales record. Must have produced at least $12MM in loan volume in the previous 12 month period. We prefer a candidate who has a thorough knowledge of the various mortgage loan products and services and has relationships built with builders, real estate agents, etc in the local market. We are also looking for a definitive profile that encompasses the following:

Excellent presentation with highly-developed communication skills

Good networking ability
Intelligence and insight into people
Proven record of success

A products and sales training school is provided.

The mortgage loan originator performs these duties:
Generates loan volume from bank channel referrals, advertising and direct solicitation from borrowers, builders and realtors. Pre-qualifies borrower, completes loan application and answers questions from customers. Issues Good Faith Estimates and Truth in Lending Statements as well as disclosures. May pre-qualify application before submission to underwriting. Follows up with borrowers, builders and realtors regarding application. Meets performance standards and goals established by the bank. Spends approx 80% of time in business development activities.

Must be willing to work in a production environment based on a commission pay structure.
