Key Job Responsibilities: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as pertaining to process related equipment. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the process equipment is in proper working condition, and that all machine safeties are in place during normal operation. All repairs, and work performed, must conform to the company's safety and quality programs as established.
Concentration in Electronics Objectives: The Electronic Maintenance Technician (EMT) is responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all electrical/electronic equipment/systems including; process equipment, utility equipment/systems, and control loop setup/ calibration. The EMT is the primary electrical/electronic technical resource for Operations, Engineering, and for the TSU Maintenance Dept. The EMT must be willing and able to exert situational leadership and provide hands on technical support to the engineering and operations staff regarding; equipment reliability, equipment/operational safety issues, and special projects.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions: The EMT is responsible for PLC programming, documentation, and software backups of the main PLC code. The EMT under TSU Engineering Supervision, is responsible to establish control loop calibration routes, and work those routes to ensure that the process equipment controls are maintained at their proper settings, and within the design and set point parameters necessary for the process. The EMT is ultimately responsible for the troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of major and minor electrical/electronic system failures throughout the facility. The EMT is also responsible for the transfer of technical knowledge, and will participate in special projects/functions including; formal and hands on technical training for operations and maintenance personnel, emergency maintenance coverage, and the development of special written procedures/programs. The EMT will also support all initiatives and goals set fourth by the Plant Leadership Team.
Night Shift (D Shift) - 6:00 PM - 6:00 A.M
Position Requirements: .High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 5 yrs hands on verifiable experience required.
.Associate's Degree in Electrical engineering Technology or Automated Machine Controls Systems desirable.
.Must be able to read and comprehend technical and non-technical documents as they relate to the design and operational characteristics of automated machine controls and devices.
.Shop knowledge, use of tools, mechanical & electrical background.
.Knowledge of coating & finishing equipment.
.Good communication and PC skills are essential.
.Excellent interpersonal skills, and must be able to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
.Electrical systems understanding & troubleshooting (including understanding of codes and NEMA wiring practices)
.Knowledge and understanding of both A/C and D/C drives, systems, and components
.Knowledge and understanding of PID control loops
.Assessment techniques of examining, evaluating, and developing PLC program logic/code
.Troubleshooting and maintenance of Plant Mains; of conventional relay circuits, and motor starters; of variable speed AC and DC drives; sensors and process measurement and calibration equipment.
