Job Description Overview:

This role is focused on the growing our Education business across Ariba’s Applications and Spend Management Best Practices. Additionally, this role will be building and launching a new Ariba Consulting “Online Community” through Ariba University. This Online Community will support all Consulting customers with their Spend Management implementations and continually connect with them to provide ongoing best practices and advice. The Director is charged with solution innovation, sales and lead generation, delivery guidance, as well as people development responsibilities.

The leader of this team demonstrates deep spend management competency, but also the ability to foster continuous dialog with senior client stakeholders during the sales cycle and delivery efforts around operational issues impacting training activities. The role lends itself to opportunity identification and high-level networking within existing clients and internal Ariba sales teams at new prospects.

The Director of Education and Community Consulting will be responsible for managing the Education business, ownership for the P&L, driving growth within the business, developing the new solution roadmap and selling new solutions. This role will work directly with other Ariba departments, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Product Management and HR to manage the Education business. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

? Develop strategic and tactical plan for achieving business growth 
? Develop solution roadmap to identify new product and services offerings along with launching the “Online Community”
? Innovate the education curriculum to provide classes on Spend Management Practices. Work with select Universities to build and offer these programs and develop business partnerships.
? Manage team P&L to meet bookings, revenue and margin targets
? Manage the DME Sales effort for new business growth.
? Manage team operations, administration, finance and HR performance
? Oversee day-to-day coordination of business, including class scheduling, registration, logistics and website maintenance
? Collaborate with curriculum development team to provide strategy for courseware development 
? Work directly with customers to identify opportunities, respond to RFPs, deliver sales presentations and recommend training solutions
? Manage commercial processes including opportunity identification, SOW development, pricing estimation and deal closure
? Work with ACNA marketing leadership to develop plans and provide content for all marketing activities, presentations, events and newsletters
? Work closely with customers to maintain high levels of satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications:

? MBA or similar advanced degree
? Consulting experience at senior manager or principal level 
? Experience in spend management solutions – strong preference for Ariba expertise
? Experience in training industry, including knowledge of training trends, best practices, methodology and vehicles
? Experience managing a business line/P&L
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills
? Strong business and financial acumen
? Strong leadership and people development skills
? Strong customer service mentality
? Extensive product knowledge and industry best practice expertise

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

? High level of achievement in Bachelors degree, ideally in Business, Instructional Design, Adult Education or related field 
? 9+ years of experience, through a combination in professional services and corporate environment
? 3+ years experience of people management
