ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:


 


FTI Healthcare is seeking an experienced professional with prior/hands on experience in case management operations, utilizing a thorough approach  to identify and track opportunities to increase clinical consistency and efficiency for hospital clients.  . The individual must have hands on responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and directing the transformation of case management departments focusing on utilization review, care coordination, discharge planning and social work functions.  In addition to strong management skills, the candidate should possess a track record of successfully managing high performance, interdisciplinary teams to meet project milestones and achieving measurable performance outcomes.  Our RN Case Management consultants, typically possess strong nursing leadership experience, and work onsite with client personnel.  Our onsite consultants also work with other clinical specialists and non-clinical client personnel to validate and implement the identified improvement opportunities.


 


Our Directors have overall responsibility for project management, client management, solution design and implementation as well as achievement of engagement results. Working with client and project leaders to effectively use change management strategies and guide the client through transformation efforts. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following: 



  • Build and cultivate client relationships while expanding the FTI Healthcare client portfolio.

  • Exhibit personal leadership skill and ability.

  • Provide project management and client management expertise as needed.

  • Produce quality case management methodology and engagement deliverables.

  • Manage risks and utilize creative problem solving techniques.

  • Lead client and selected FTI personnel to influence team direction.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of case management information technologies, Medicare guidelines and Medical Necessity Criteria. .

  • Utilize data mining tools to search, recover, organize and analyze large amounts of electronic information.

  • Prepare drafts of written analyses, reports, and presentations to be delivered to clients.

  • Contribute to, and occasionally lead, data analysis focused activities to support measureable project outcomes.


SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Experience should encompass all aspects of case management, with a focus on balancing cost, quality and optimizing processes to ensure that care is delivered to the patient at the clinically appropriate level of care, intensity of care, and location of care.

  • Demonstrated abilities in developing strong relationships with physicians, clinicians, executives and vendors in order to facilitate and enhance best business practices related to patient safety and case management program management.

  • High level of quantitative and qualitative research, analytical skills and critical thinking skills with expertise to drive process development to implementation.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, presentation and organizational skills.

  • Proficient knowledge of PC environment, including Microsoft applications such as Access, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word.   Experience with additional database technologies is preferred (e.g., MIDAS, Canopy, InterQual, etc.).

  • Knowledge of CMS Medicare guidelines and Medical Necessity Requirements.

  • Ability to produce high quality work product under strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced, multi-tasked environment with attention to detail.

  • Flexibility in handling assigned tasks and engagements due to deadline and task priority changes.

  • Must be willing to travel weekly, typically out of town a minimum of four days/week (i.e., at least 80%).

  • Must be hard working, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of 10 years of professional clinical experience, with 5+ years of progressive case management experience, preferably in a consulting/professional services environment, and/or in a provider or a large physician-practice setting.

  • BSN from accredited college or university is preferred; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prior consulting experience in a nationally recognized firm strongly preferred.

  • Master’s degree, MHA or MBA is preferred.
