The Vice President of Operations is a key member of the executive team and an energy domain expert who has demonstrates strong business acumen to support the development of corporate plans, goals, and strategies. The Vice President of Operations is responsible for fulfilling delivery of all of Prenova’s contracted service commitments to its clients. This position holds profit and loss accountability for all services provided to all clients. In addition, the Vice President of Operations is responsible for the on-going management of the critical customer specific data Prenova analyzes and utilizes to deliver its’ services on a continual basis. It is also expected that the Vice President, Operations support Prenova’s sales and business development activities as they pertain to driving overall company growth. The Vice President of Operations is a business leader and relationship-builder, capable of building client confidence and growing the business through continuous, successful delivery of committed results.

Deliver contracted service commitments including direct responsibility for Service Line Groups/Directors
o Energy Procurement, Utility Management, Demand Solutions and Engineering and Consulting
Rationalization and improvement of service line performance metrics
o Ensure that the business runs smoothly and that contributing parties, both internal and external are well informed, coordinated and resourced
o Ensure adherence to protocol, deadlines, workload guidelines and coordination with other departments
Support development of new capabilities to meet client and Prenova needs

Develop and implement the planning, organizing and control mechanisms needed to set objectives, track progress and maintain accountability
o Optimize utilization of technology and systems to achieve maximum efficiencies
Manage the operating budgets, including fees, income overhead costs, utilization etc., to achieve profitability
o Manage the operations to the highest level of gross margin
o Leverage technology enablement to drive efficiency and productivity across the operational organization
Manage the on-going operational data required to maintain the highest level of confidence possible within the operations team

o Oversee and supervise staff members working on assigned projects including but not limited to providing instruction, direction and mentoring
Mentor and develop people and strategies that move Prenova toward a knowledge-based organizational design capable of operating as a high scalable, highly profitable, sustained growth delivery engine
o Develop direct reports and other employees by engaging in: hiring, promoting, coaching, training, evaluating and growing talent for the organization
Support the development of key personnel, programs and initiatives to accelerate and sustain Prenova’s evolution toward the knowledge-based performance model
o Foster teamwork through mobilization of internal and external resources
o Promote the goals and culture within the company
Support Growth of Client Relationships 10%
Support the design of strategies for enhancing value-add of Prenova’s contribution to clients’ business results
o Requires ability and desire to understand clients’ business issues and success measures
* Support implementation of client strategies by ensuring operationally the strategy can be delivered in a recurring/repeatable fashion
o Apply skills in planning, reporting and tracking to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of service that support the strategy
* Support strategies the grow Prenova’s annuity revenue, earnings and backlog base with existing and newly acquired clients

2. Education (minimum/preferred):
Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field.
Advanced degrees are highly desired, but not required.
CEM (Certified Energy Manager) desireable.
3. Experience:
10+ years progressive experience in operational management.
Previous hands-on experience with managed services offering a requirement.
Energy field (supply or demand side) experience a must.
Business Development experience a plus.
Experience with various Microsoft programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, as well as Photoshop and Quark.

Equal to base salary plus 50% incentive target
Working Conditions
70% of the time is spent in the office environment; 30% of the time is spent traveling to meet the needs of the business operationally for our clients.
