Overview:
 
Works independently and with minimal assistance from more experienced and knowledgeable project managers, application managers and system level subject matter experts to drive the work of the project team members for medium level projects and higher. At this level, associates in this job are expected to develop competence in the Macy's project methodology. Consistent leadership qualities surrounding conflict management, influencing others, personal accountability for project performance should be observed by project sponsor. In addition, associates in this job should leverage and demonstrate accepted project management practices that support delivery of projects on time, on budget, and with high quality. Acts as a technical and professional leader, providing guidance, direction and training to their team and other project team members as necessary. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities:

    *
      Candidate should have 5+ years of successful work experience as a Project Manager within a software development organization.
    *
      Works proactively and with minimal direction to build relationships with application management and business partners, and helps to manage expectations.
    *
      Candidate displays strong leadership qualities and takes ownership of all project related issues.
    *
      Candidate will be responsible for independent leadership and management of large-scale projects, and must ensure deadlines are met by participating in resource planning, organizing, prioritizing and delegating assignments to project team members.
    *
      This will include managing risks and issues, change management, tracking key dates. as well as identifying and managing cross-dependencies between project tracks when necessary.
    *
      Candidate will be responsible for communication on the project including, but not limited to, keeping management aware of project progress on a regular and timely basis.
    *
      In addition, the candidate will be responsible for partnering with developers, testing teams and/or other application project managers, applying excellent knowledge of project management and skills.
    *
      Candidate should be able to demonstrate successful experience in leading multi-skilled project teams, the ability to work with all levels of the enterprise and across many functional areas and display verbal agility in face-to-face situations.
