The Department of Teacher Education is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Teacher Education beginning January 2010. Responsibilities include: teaching courses during the Fall and Spring academic semesters with the option of Summer teaching, supervising student interns, maintaining an active scholarly agenda, advising students, preparing accreditation reports, assisting with course and/or program development, and other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include: an earned doctorate in Teacher Education (or a closely related field) from an NCATE accredited institution by the start date; previous teaching experience in a higher education setting; and teaching experience in English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Mathematics in a diverse K-12 setting. Applications should include: a letter of application outlining the applicant’s qualifications for the position, transcript for the highest degree earned, and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2009 and continue until the position is filled.
