OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY, Atlanta, Georgia. Assistant Professor of Communication and Rhetoric Studies: Tenure-track, starting Fall 2010. Specialization in new media studies and/or visual rhetoric, with emphases in two or more of the following areas: citizen journalism, civic discourse, online journalism, and public relations. Ph.D. and teaching experience required along with a coherent research agenda.
Responsibilities include teaching courses (3/3 load) in new media and society, public speaking, and professional communication; teaching in the core curriculum; and student advising. Additional teaching responsibilities may include development of new courses. The qualified candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching from a liberal arts perspective, stressing excellent writing skills, theoretical understanding, and critical analysis. OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY, department of Economics and Business Administration is seeking candidates for a full time tenure track position in the area of accounting. The position is available starting August 2010. The normal teaching load is 3-3 in the areas of Managerial, Intermediate and Advanced. The successful candidate will show a strong commitment to teaching, advising and mentoring accounting students. The minimum credential requirements are a master’s degree (MA, MBA) and professional certification (CPA, CMA).
