EP - Engineering Technician Product Group:Oldcastle Glass Job ID:10306 Company:Newnan Category:Engineering Location:Newnan, GA Duration:Full Time Job Description Oldcastle Glass Engineering Products, Newnan, GA: EP Engineering - Engineering Technician Provides Aluminum storefront, curtainwall and skylight systems to the to the building industry. We are fully integrated supplier of these products, providing extrusion, anodizing or paint and fabrication within our operation. Job Duties: Produce shop drawings and fabrication drawings to architectural aluminum products (Curtainwall, Storefronts, Doors) used in the construction industry and Engineering Task with minimal supervision. Fabrication: Create manufacturing drawings from shop drawings. Provide Bill of Material for the scope of work based from shop drawings. Provide Take-off of all material required per scope of project. Prepare all necessary fabricated drawings complete, correct, appropriate dimensions, notes and clarification with all material being logically arranged and distributed. Submissions: Develop shop drawings from quote documents, Architecturals and Structurals. Capability to illustrate with clarity and proper instruction based on Architect's intent and customer's request. Locating potential problem areas while collectively collaborating with Design group, Project Managers and other support groups. Assist the development of custom shapes and complex conditions as required by project specification. Emphasis on creating key plans, elevations and details with accuracy and clarification is crucial. Creating and Revising Shop Drawings, Material Take-Offs, and Fab Drawings, etc. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD drafting software. Strong Math skills (Geometry and Trigonometry). Must be capable of reading architectural drawings. Must be Self-Motivated and willing to apply and learn new tasks required to perform the job. Experience in the curtainwall or construction industry is a plus. Required Skills Qualifications: Must have a Two (2) year technical drafting degree or equivalent experience. Must be proficient in AutoCAD (2000 thru 2006 is preferred), MS, Industry Experience Manual Board Experience is a plus. Mechanical design experience is a plus. Strong Math skills. Must be capable of reading Architectural Drawings. Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure. Computer literacy is a must. Multi-Tasking and Sef-Management.
