This is an entry level Mechanical Engineering position for December 2009 or May 2010 new graduates. This position will be used as a sourcing position to capture the candidate's personal information and qualification. Mechanical Engineer dedicated to development, maintenance, and support of test solutions for production Top Level / Sub-Level and Return to Service testing of Commercial Systems products. Efforts include enclosure structural design, printed wiring board design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and transition to the factory. The position requires interaction with various electrical engineers to establish functional partitioning and boundary conditions. All work will be located in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Candidate must possess knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in product development, perform assignments requiring the use and application of mechanical engineering principles and techniques and be capable of performing mechanical design and analysis to meet system requirements. Will be required to plan and manage mechanical activities within project scope, budget and schedule constraints. Other principal accountabilities include:
·Assuring the generation, release and maintenance of complex technical documentation in accordance with Company & contractual requirements.
·Estimate project costs and schedules and participate in preparation of proposals and presentations.
·Assuring Company & technical consistent processes are followed.
Additional requirements: Familiarity with structural and thermal analysis tools such as ANSYS, SDRC, Flotherm and Pacific Numerics. Familiarity with forced-convection cooling systems is desired. Must possess good research skills and practiced verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Unigraphics mechanical CAD system is highly desired.
Must have good communication skills and be able to interface with internal team members as well as subcontractors and customers.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required
Ability to obtain active Department of Defense security clearance
Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field, or, in the absence of an bachelor's degree, six years of related engineering experience.
Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field, and two years of related experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, eight years of related engineering experience.
