Plans, administers, and conducts various Creative Arts seminars, institutes, conferences, etc.; establishes and maintains at least one divisional arts group; establishes and maintains at least 3 regional arts groups; travels throughout the division to assist local corps in developing Creative Arts programs; trains leaders to take over groups established; teaches drama, mime, dance, puppetry classes; performs vocally and/or instrumentally in various music programs; maintains the divisional library of Creative Arts resources and materials; performs general office duties including preparing and distributing correspondence; maintains mailing list of divisional Creative Arts leaders and the divisional arts groups.
Travels throughout the division to meet with local corps on a regular basis; establishes, develops and maintains their Creative Arts programs; solicits, recruits, and trains group leaders for programs.
Plans, choreographs, writes/re-writes scripts to fit groups at various events; coordinates rehearsals and conducts Creative Arts programs.
Maintains constant and open communication with the Creative Arts Leaders and officers in the division, keeping them informed of all ministry opportunities.
Maintains the Divisional Library of Creative Arts resources and materials; assists local leaders in obtaining materials for their own Creative Arts programs.
Establishes and maintains an annual budget for the division’s creative arts ministries.
Plans, organizes, choreographs, and directs the Divisional Arts Groups; their monthly rehearsals; plans and organizes tours for the groups
Assists the Divisional Music Director in planning, organizing, and implementing a five week Music & Creative Arts Conservatory; which includes hiring and supervising counselors; preparing and processing correspondence; organizing, planning, and gathering materials for the full time drama track; preparing a program budget; teaching electives related to the creative arts; teaching a Creative Arts Leadership elective.
Plans, produces, directs, and choreographs the Annual Junior Conservatory Musical.
Plans, produces, directs, and choreographs Divisional Youth Councils Musicals; organize, coordinate, direct, and choreograph all creative arts ministries involved in youth councils.
Plans, conducts and administers the Divisional Creative Arts rehearsals; selects and photocopies materials and assembles folders; maintains roster and distributes correspondence.
Organize ad hoc groups upon request to perform in special events throughout the division

Create and record choreography to be sent out upon request to corps and groups throughout the division.
Establish and maintain a divisional costume, set, and prop inventory.
Plans, prepares, and provides private drama and/or movement instruction for corps and divisional group members.
Assists Creative Arts Leaders and Corps Officers in the division with obtaining set, props, costumes, and supplies when necessary.
Supports and participates in divisional events such as Home League Rally, Youth Councils, Women's auxiliary luncheons, etc.; presents Creative Arts presentations/solos; assists in coordinating programs by selecting appropriate presentations and assisting soloists, etc.
Performs all general office duties including record keeping, filing and correspondence related to the Creative Arts programs; circulates copies to members of the Divisional Headquarters staff; maintains up-to-date lists of Creative Arts groups and leaders in the division.
Required Experience:
Two years experience developing, conducting, and participating in Creative Arts programs preferably with The Salvation Army, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience, that provides the all the required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed in the job description.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited college or university in Drama, Dance, Music or a related field,

Work is performed in a normal church and/or office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work involves moderate amounts of travel. Work may involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and changes in weather or discomforts associated with outdoor performances.
