Opening for a Claims Adjuster for Atlanta, GA!

As a Claims Adjuster Level One with our company, you will investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of the company’s liability concerning loss or damages, and attempt to effect settlement with claimants.  You will correspond with, or interview, medical specialists, Agents, police, medical professionals, witnesses, or claimants to compile information.  You will also calculate benefit payments and approve payment of claims within a certain monetary limit.

Your claims will focus on property and casualty coverage, and your duties and responsibilities will include:

Investigating insurance claims for loss or damages by:

·         Reviewing the damaged vehicle(s) estimates including limited structural damage to the core support, minor unibody damage, A/C and cooling

·         Evaluating and negotiating with injured person(s) including soft tissue injuries, early settlement opportunities and claims that include ongoing treatment, mild to moderate sprain/strain with conservative physical therapy.

·         Interviewing and/or consulting with claimants, witnesses, police reports, doctors records, etc.

·         Ensuring that all damage or injury is consistent with the report of the accident.

·         Preparing reports of all claims.

Analyzing information gathered to determine course of action (payment, investigation or denial) by:

·         Estimating the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged item, or contacting a relevant specialist to provide the quote.  In the case of bodily  injury, estimating the cost of treatment or compensation (in the case of a permanent disability).

·         Interviewing or corresponding with agents and claimants to correct errors or omissions and investigate questionable claims.

·         Referring questionable claims to investigator for investigation.

·         Evaluating total losses including disposal of salvage.

Effecting the settlement of the claim by:

·         Assessing the property damage or injury/injuries.

·         Authorizing payments.

·         Discussing and agreeing with the insured on a suitable repairer when needed.

·         Negotiating with the client when claims cannot be settled in full.

·         Collecting evidence to support contested claims in court.

·         Bachelor's degree or 2-5 years of relevant work experience and/or postsecondary education. Relevant experience includes work as a claims adjuster, a property damage adjuster, or work experience in a position that developed or required the ability to think critically, solve problems, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and embrace new challenges.
