Overview:
Primary roles and responsibilities will be to serve as the point of contact in the relationship between transportation, merchants, and vendors in the implementation of strategic programs to reduce costs and improve service.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Lead strategic projects, using effective project management disciplines and Six Sigma resources in order to ensure timely completion of transportation initiatives.
·         Collaborate with merchants, planners and transportation operations to implement programs at a department and/or vendor level that will drive more cost effective movement of merchandise.
·         Subject matter expert for all transportation related questions from merchant partners.
·         Articulate and support the transfer of new solutions or processes to merchants and vendors.
·         Provide updates of supply chain initiatives to senior management.
·         Plan and manage effort to define "to be" processes and capabilities including the creation and application of key reports and performance metrics.
·         Monitor achievement of strategic, financial and operational benefits to ensure planned business outcomes are achieved and/or help to adjust programs if necessary.
·         Any other responsibilities that management deems essential.
 
Requirements:
·         Previous transportation and/or merchant related experience.
·         Strong analytical skills.
·         Strong communication skills.
 
Systems/Technology
·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Powerpoint, Word & Mappoint)
·         Knowledge of Macy's systems including Mainframe, Lan, Fedflo and  Macysnet.
·         Experience working with mainframe applications and database query and storage tools.
                      
Skills/Experience:
·         Self motivated, thorough and accurate in all aspects of work assignments.
·         Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
·         Willing to accept challenges and operate in a fast paced environment.
·         Must be flexible and a team player.
