Marketing Manager

SUMMARY:
Direct the development of the strategic marketing plan for Elekta Neuroscience products and services in the North America region. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the strategic marketing plan via personal contribution (e.g., interfacing with customers, writing and editing copy, and presenting Elekta product vision), internal cooperation (i.e. working closely with global neuro and NA oncology groups) and effective management of internal and external resources (e.g. marketing communications).
The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced segment marketing person with knowledge of the neuroscience and radiation oncology/radiosurgery segment of the medical device market. The ability to formulate marketing strategy and tactics to help achieve sales goals for Elekta’s Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Neuroscience product line is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations to senior level audiences, both internally and externally in support of the program. This position requires a strong track record in marketing & marketing communications and experience collaborating closely with Sales.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning:
* Continually analyze and assess Elekta’s competitive advantage(s) including product strengths and weaknesses, and market threats and opportunities
* Develop and maintain a marketing plan for Elekta’s NA Neuroscience business that includes market analysis along with strategic intents, program tactics, and budget projections
* Share marketing plan with global neuro and NA oncology groups to help align goals and priorities and leverage resources across markets/regions
* Maintain surveillance of environmental influences that may impact market strategy, including regulations and healthcare legislation, particularly those affecting reimbursement
Business Marketing & Messaging:
* Develop and maintain messaging for Elekta Neuroscience that is aligned with corporate branding, yet fine-tuned to meet NA strategic and business goals
* Refine and convey messaging in internal documents (e.g. marketing plan, vision statement(s), message tree, claim statements) and external collateral (presentations, articles, press releases, brochures, exhibit graphics, etc.)
* Work with sales/management to integrate messaging into the selling process and promote effective use of marketing events and materials
Customer Relations & Outreach:
* Pro-actively establish relationships with customers and cultivate product ‘evangelists’ for references, soundbites, publications, and speakers bureau as needed
* Identify print and speaking opportunities to feature Elekta evangelists; work with customers to effectively support and convey established message points
* Organize symposia and meetings to forward customer/prospect interaction in support of Elekta Neuroscience sales and marketing goals (e.g. regional dinners, SRS track at RO users mtg)
* Assist customers in the organization of events to achieve site marketing goals
* Manage Leksell Centers of Radiosurgery to ensure that development, education, and outreach goals are continually met
Product Management Support:
* Provide product management with general and NA-specific feedback on Elekta Neuroscience products and features
* Provide product management and global marketing with competitive intelligence
* Help identify and prioritize development plans to address product deficiencies and/or create product advantages in support of established business goals
Sales Support:
* Work closely with business development staff to understand the financial feasibility of Elekta Neuroscience’s products and services in North America
* Help define the economic value proposition for Elekta Neuroscience’s products and services; educate sales and customers on the value proposition via training and materials
* Assist in sales calls and technical product presentations as required
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or equivalent work experience;
MBA preferred
* At least 2-3 years marketing experience in medical device industry
* Knowledge of contemporary strategic marketing methods, including web-based strategies
* Demonstrated ability to translate quantitative analysis into actionable business strategies
* Extensive experience in presenting and communicating ideas to key stakeholders across businesses
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Sales experience, preferably in medical device industry is preferred
