ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

The position of Associate Vice President, Resource Development (AVP) is one of national leadership for CARE. The AVP sets direction and ensures the development and execution of national strategy and annual plans for the individual and foundations giving team. The AVP guides the identification of new markets and leads the development of new income streams as key components of CARE's resource diversification strategy. As a manager, the AVP oversees, coaches and mentors a team of professionals in many of our revenue channels (Annual Fund and Special Giving, Major Gifts, Principal Gifts, Planned Giving and Foundations).
Principle Responsibilities:
The AVP is responsible for all people and programs involved in individual and foundations giving. The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Resource Development and is a member of the RD Senior Management Team (RD SMT). The RD SMT is responsible for divisional strategy, annual operating plan development and execution.
Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required.
· 10-15 years non-profit fundraising experience.
· 10 years in management and/or team leadership.
· Demonstrated experience in organization-wide strategy development and execution.
· Proven success in leading teams to maximize both short and long-term donor potential
· Proven ability to communicate skillfully and persuasively, both orally and in written form
· Proven ability to communicate these principles to non-fundraising professionals, Executives and Board members to ensure their understanding and support
· Proven ability to select and direct the use of fundraising information management technology
