Product Manager

Purpose
Achieve the strategic, financial and customer satisfaction objectives for the given product(s). This role will execute plans to achieve revenue and profit growth of a product(s) in line with the strategic plans and manage performance of the product line throughout its product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Product/Portfolio Strategy
- Prepare and implement the roadmap for the product(s) in line with the portfolio strategy;
- Articulate and document the product vision and define the target market.
Sales/Channel Strategy and Support
- Define a 'go to market model' within the existing sales/channel strategy;
- Support bid management processes and pre-sales customer interactions.
Product/Portfolio Innovation/Definition
- Through an understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape and market trends, propose new opportunities, as well as requirements for enhancements to existing products/services;
- Define product requirements;
- Track each product development project throughout the build/launch process to ensure delivery of the right product to market, within the agreed timescales;
- Participate in cross functional teams that ensure the timely/cost effective and quality delivery of product developments and product performance;
- Contribute to the management of partnerships and supplier relationships.
Product/Portfolio Life Cycle Management
- Develop and manage the product roadmap throughout the lifecycle from conception to retirement;
- Track the product(s) P&L, revenue, new business and profitability including competitive pricing of the product(s) in the marketplace to achieve desired sales volumes/optimized profit.
Product/Portfolio Marketing/Value Proposition/Market Intelligence
- Define and develop the product value proposition;
- Be responsible for all product marketing activities during the lifetime of the product including the implementation of the product launch plan, promotional and collateral support plan and sales support/infrastructure plan to drive the successful acquisition and retention of customers;
- Organise, run and work with user groups and other customer forums to develop customer relationships and influence market thinking.
Product/Portfolio Performance
- Be responsible for achieving product financial, customer satisfaction and business objectives.
Product Management Practice
- Ensure communication of the 'project plans progress tracking' to all relevant parties;
- Comply with Product Management procedures and best practice;
- Act as coordinator for those working on the product development, stage gate and product projects.
Education & Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent in a technical, business or marketing discipline.
Experience
- 5 to 8 years relevant business experience in a high-tech, global company.
Knowledge & Skills
- SITA Portfolio knowledge.
- Knowledge of the IT & ATI industries and economic drivers.
- Innovation Skills and a track record in defining market requirements and functional specifications.
- Knowledge of Pragmatic Marketing, Stage Gate or other product development methodology.
- Understanding of the latest trends and innovations within the airline/airport industry and relevant technology areas.
- A demonstrable track record in Product Management in a global business environment and within a technology solutions based business.
- Management capability of both direct teams of product managers as well as management of virtual teams focused on delivery and support within an international environment.

- airline operations and aircraft communications
- airframers processes
- regulatory issues affecting aircraft and airlines operations
- AEEC, RCTA, FARs and other industry standards
Working knowledge or aircraft communications, airline operations and/or airframers environment an asset
Understanding of airline applications, IT and telecom architecture and ATI-related services
