MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN
AREA: PSYCHIATRY ADMINISTRATION

SHIFT: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM / M-F
GRADE: 13
DESCRIPTION: Provides mental health services to mental health clients including children, adolescents, and families. Utilizes clinical skills in collaborating with Grady multi-disciplinary team and members of other agencies in assessing, evaluating, planning for, and providing mental health services for mental health clients including children, adolescents, and families. Performs these functions both at the hospital and in community based settings.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Behavioral Science with a clinical or counseling emphasis. Possess at least two 2 years of post-masters experience providing mental health services to mental health clients within the specialty area. Advanced interviewing, assessment, and counseling skills are needed. Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Should be licensed or actively working toward obtaining licensure in the state of Georgia under the Composite Board for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family counselors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and kneeling. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and push 75 pounds. Duties require normal or near normal vision, including color and depth perception. Near normal hearing and verbal communication is essential. Moderate exposure to noise.
