Job Description:




To create new streams of premium and revenue from the sale of wireless handset and related protection products, in markets outside of the United States

Assist with the development of sales strategy and approach to targeted wireless carrier prospects, and help local personnel with the sales process and delivery of our value proposition to each client to meet operational, legal and regulatory requirements.

 

Strategic Planning

To drive the International Wireless strategy by:


  • Conducting local situational analysis of prospects, market conditions, capabilities and subject matter expertise

  • Helping to devise appropriate business objectives in support of the International Wireless Value Proposition

  • Identifying, evaluating and recommending the strategic options in the markets that Assurant chooses to operate in for wireless business

  • Assist in the communication of a clear and focused sales strategy

  • Applying the Assurant Sales Process Template; SOM (Strategic Opportunity Management) approach and SF.com tools to help with the delivery of the strategy


 

Business Development

To assist in the development and subsequent support of, the sales and marketing strategy for each country requested by:


  • Support local sales and marketing wireless specialists with the identification of new prospects

  • Develop specific understanding of each country's wireless handset protection opportunities at the consumer level

  • Develop a keen understanding of the competitive landscape in the wireless handset protection space across the value chain so that Assurant's international wireless handset protection value proposition can be appropriately leveraged

  • Conduct Strategic Opportunity Management sessions in each market to help develop the sales strategy for each targeted prospect

  • Generate directly, or through country sales and marketing personnel, the required level of premium production as defined by the Head of International Wireless


Relationship Management

To develop and maintain appropriate business relationships with wireless clients and prospects by:


  • Representing the company and developing productive relationships with clients and prospects

  • Ensuring that the relationships fall within the guidelines and are at all times compliant


To meet operational, legal and regulatory requirements


  • Managing the ongoing monitoring, review and development of product development processes and procedures.

  • Reviewing regulatory & legislative changes and ensuring their incorporation where necessary.

  • Report on product development activity in line with agreed objectives as required.

  • Consider and identify the risks relevant to the operation of the business related to sales and business development, review and challenge where appropriate


Management of International Wireless Business Development Personnel


  • Makes recommendations regarding recruitment to maintain the team with sufficient resources and expertise to meet the needs of the business

  • When appropriate, provides input to the Leader of International Wireless or Country Managers about the wireless teams and the individual team members' performance within countries

  • Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures

  • Manages the introduction and embedding of business changes

  • Sets in place, and maintains, the Business Continuity plan for the function







Qualifications



Required skills/experience


  • Bachelors degree or higher

  • Seven plus years of relevant experience in a similar marketing role, or related experience in a corporate environment

  • Demonstrated success in the area of business development in wireless carrier space

  • Strong analytical experience and interpretation of data

  • Organizational and effectively deal with deadlines

  • Relationship Management and ability to negotiate, influence and motivate others

  • Strong communication skills (report writing, presentation creation and delivery)


Desired skills/experience


  • Knowledge of product development practices applicable to the selling of insurance products

  • Knowledge of product development systems and controls within the company
