Exact Job Duties to be Performed:	Importance: The Security Guard provides a safe and secure environment for the building and parking areas for tenants, monitoring the ingress and egress of people. Role (In Order of Importance): • Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates • Patrol parking garage • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non- business hours or when switchboard is closed • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary • Escort individuals to specified locations and provide personal protection when necessary • Perform tasks as needed in other areas of Corporate Services, including, but not limited, to the Mail and Copy Center and other administrative tasks • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:	• Various shifts and Law Enforcement, Military or 3 years Security Experience (including Corporate Security) required • Ability to use and monitor electronic security equipment required • Strong attention to detail required to detect irregularities and changes in environment • Ability to produce security badges using badge-making equipment required • High school diploma required
