Complete Description

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  Managing the daily operations of the staff involved in providing data base administration, storage media space allocation and management, and monitoring productivity of data base systems.  Manages contracts with vendors, life cycles of applications and devices, requests for proposals, performance and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in business administration, computer technology or science, or a closely related field is required.  Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional work experience providing computer based support in the areas of data base administration, storage media management or a closely related field is required, three (3) years of management or supervisory work experience is preferred.  Microsoft certifications and a working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the areas of applications that must be supported is required.  A leader who identifies opportunities for improved customer value and building collegial relationships to achieve outcomes; possesses qualities consistent with creativity, innovation, collaboration and critical thinking; ability to coach, mentor and empower staff; computer literate; ability to perform under stressful and changing circumstances and deadlines; ability to delegate responsibilities and assure they are rendered effectively.
