Job Title:	MS SQL Database Administrator

Exact Job Duties to be Performed:	Purpose: The Windows SQL DBA is accountable for the availability and reliability of Enterprise Windows SQL applications by developing and implementing the proper policy, practice and procedures. Job Duties: • Administers SQL Server production databases • Coordinates backups and restore functions • Monitors SQL Server jobs • Installs and configures SQL database setups • Troubleshoots SQL Server production issues • Handles capacity planning and monitors database growth • Manages SQL database replications • Manages SQL Server security and logins • Designs disaster recovery strategies • Oversees index management • Deals with performance issues on production SQL Servers • Moves objects from staging to production databases • Tests all patches before deploying to production • Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:	• BS or BA in Computer Science/Information Technology, or equivalent required • Minimum of five years of DBA work experience with Microsoft SQL required • Understanding of complex and advanced database concepts and has had involvement in development of new business areas, and is proactive and preventive in problem solving • Experience with IT development or software engineering practices or techniques required • Experience with implementing databases within various heterogeneous hardware and software configurations required • Experience on architecture or design techniques for logical and physical database structures inside operational or data warehouse required • Experience with SQL programming constructs using T-SQL, PL/SQL, and Object Oriented Design and Development required • Programming languages, ASP.net, C#/VB.NET and CLR Coding a plus • Strong analytical, problem resolution, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently or group setting on multiple project assignments • Understanding of event monitoring (alerting, diagnostics, solutions) required • Must be able to work as a team member in a dynamic and changing environment on a Global scale
