Job Description
Come work for the world's leading provider of IT business solutions and
communication services to the air transport industry.

Our Client is currently in need of a Senior Network Engineer to fulfill a 12
Month contract in Atlanta, GA

The Network Engineer will provide highly reliable and efficient network
support within a Data Center WAN, LAN and Security areas and to support the
effective utilization of these components. To provide Tier 3 support for the
coordination and direction of the Data Center Tier 1 & 2 support teams.

Responsibilities:
The position works under general supervision. Other duties may be assigned in
addition to the following.
· Monitors the reliability and performance of the Data Center network and
production Enterprise Cisco environment and its components, WAN connections
and security systems using appropriate tools; recommends and implements
preventive and corrective actions as required.
· Evaluates and plans wide area networks capacity expansion and alternatives;
participates in the installation of new services
· Can perform the role of project coordinator or project manager for the
implementation of new services and technologies for Data Centre external
customers and internal users; in this position can act as the representative
of Network Engineering in the discussions with the Solution lines and other
client Business Units.
· Evaluates and recommends the adoption and enhancement of network and
security related hardware, software and tools; liaises with circuit suppliers
as required; can design, test and document network related software and
ensures that the Computer Operations department receives the information
required to implement start-up, shut-down, back-up and recovery procedures for
network operations.
· Liaises with other parts for configuration, problem solving and work on
shared projects; customizes and updates the Enterprise network and Tools.
· Provides on-call emergency support for network operations in rotation with
other network support staff.
· Can Administrator and control the allocation and utilization of network
related resources; supports other departments and entities with technical
advice and assistance, and can provide member airlines and IATA with network
related advice.
· Participates in the training and advancement of Jr. network Support staff
· Can perform the activities of a Sr. Network Engineer, possibly with a higher
degree of autonomy.
· Must be a Team player.

Required:
Education and training:
· Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field highly preferred
or equivalent work experience. High school diploma or equivalent required,
Cisco CCNP or CCIE certificate highly preferred.

Knowledge and experience:
· Required knowledge of TCP/IP, SNA, and WAN/LAN protocols. Strong commitment
to the provision of high services. Good interpersonal skills and ability to
work in a team oriented environment. Project planning skills helpful.
Equivalent of 1 year of full-time experience with Enterprise Cisco gear. MS
Windows user skills.
· Preferred familiarity with Ethernet environment. Experience with Cisco
security standards, PIX Firewall, Checkpoint Firewall, DNS, SMTP,
Internet-connected server environment, LAN/WAN analyzer tools.
· F5 Load Balancers, CiscoWorks, Cisco ACS and Solarwinds
· Cisco Enterprise equipment: 6500, 4500 and 3500 switches. ASA Firewalls
· Enterprise 10 GB-e SAN switches- preferred
· VMware Virtual switches -preferred

Skills:
· A level of knowledge and skill typically acquired through five plus year’s
extensive technical experience in network Data Center environment, software,
and network support.
· Formal project planning experience
preferred.
· Ability to work in a team environment and work closely with Project Managers."
