Travelport, the leader in travel technology resources for travel suppliers, travel agencies, e-commerce sites and corporations worldwide has an immediate opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia for a Software Development Engineer.


 Travelport seeks a Software Development Engineer to work on the Agenct Desktop Product. The Software Development Engineer will provide leadership as well as individual contributions for the engineering, design, implementation and integration of cost effective technology solutions. This position requires the ability to work across the Travelport technology and operations organizations as well as with external vendors. 


 Responsibilities 


Demonstrable ability to contribute on a broad and deep basis in the implementation of multiple software and hardware components across multiple domains into a cohesive and functional system aligned with Travelport's architectural framework.  


Research and apply new hardware and software technologies to reduce corporate costs and improve productivity and reliability.



Qualifications


Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.


Excellent problem solving/analytical skills


Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task


Effective written and communication skills


2+ years experience in open systems application development environment

2 years experience in .NET application development environment: ASP.NET and C#

1-2 years of experience with XML and related technologies (XSL/T, XML Schema).

Experience with Web Service technologies preferred.


Excellent understanding of object-oriented analysis and design

Excellent understanding of architectural design patterns

Excellent understanding of enterprise architectures

Understanding of enterprise systems (i.e., databases, legacy systems, etc.)


1-2 years travel industry experience beneficial


Experience with Microsoft WPF, XAML and Silverlight preferable


Education Required


B.S. in Computer Science or Information Systems
