Job Description:

All qualified candidates MUST have the following:
1. Skilled in electrical drive engineering.
2. Knowledge of the fundamentals of automation and controls.
3. Experience with the Programming language C.
4. Hybrid Drives experience.
5. Matlab / Simulink.
6. Bachelors Degree.

Not required but would be a plus:
1. Experience with embedded-software design.
2. Experience with CAN-Bus systems.
3. Proficiency in German.
4. Post-graduate preferred (university of applied sciences / technical college) in the field of electrical engineering with emphasis on drive technology and automation and controls.

This Sr. Systems Engineer position will support the growing DT Large Drives Traction hybrid drives business in the US. The business sector “Hybrid Drives” operates in the highly competitive market of innovative drive systems for environmentally friendly transportation solutions. Our focus is the sustainable protection of resources involving the use of intelligent Hybrid-drive systems, consisting of a combination of internal combustion engine, Siemens' ELFA Hybrid drive system and electrical energy storage. The product range consists of Hybrid drive systems for the marine/yacht industry, city buses as well as a variety of special-use vehicle applications.

Areas of responsibility / Functions:
In this role, you will be able to create embedded-software for drive systems. These systems consist of traction motors, generators, and auxiliary systems along with the corresponding inverters and control systems. The features of the software encompass conformance with customer systems, speed control, drive control, energy management, communications and diagnosis of system components. After initial on-the-job-training and instruction, you will independently perform system tests on location. This will include commissioning support, new design troubleshooting, and potential system design.
